Who turns up, what they carry, and what you can reasonably expect from the moment they are at the door.

Supreme Emergency Electricians electrician in branded uniform at a customer's door

Who actually arrives

A directly employed electrician with a minimum of eighteen years in the trade, registered under Part P of the Building Regulations and insured for the work being carried out.

No apprentice attends unaccompanied. We do not hand busy nights to whoever answers first on a trade board, and we do not subcontract the work then put our name on the invoice. The firm you rang is the firm that does the job and stands behind it.

What you can expect at the door

  • Identification, without you having to ask for it.
  • An explanation in plain terms of what is wrong, before the work is priced rather than after it is done.
  • Dust sheets, and boots off or covered. Somebody else's emergency should not cost you a carpet.
  • The old parts left out for you to look at, if you want to see what failed.
  • The board labelled and the certificate issued before we leave, not posted on at some point next month.

What travels in the van

Calibrated multifunction test instruments, because insulation resistance, continuity, loop impedance and RCD trip timing are measurements rather than opinions.

Common consumer units, RCBOs and breakers, cable, accessories and the safe isolation kit. Enough that the large majority of emergency calls are finished on the first visit rather than adjourned until a wholesaler opens.

Working with us

We hire on time served. If you have eighteen years or more, hold current qualifications, and would rather be paid properly for out-of-hours work than paid badly for all of it, we would like to hear from you.

Send a note to contact@supreme-emergency.co.uk with what you have been doing and where you are based.

Common questions

Will the same electrician come back for the follow-up work?

Wherever the rota allows, yes. The person who diagnosed it already knows the installation, which saves you paying for the same investigation twice.

Are your electricians employed or self-employed?

Directly employed. It is the only way the guarantee, the certificate and the insurance all belong to the same firm you rang.

Will they be able to tell me what is wrong in plain English?

That is rather the point of eighteen years' experience. If an explanation leaves you none the wiser, say so and ask again — a good electrician can explain a fault without needing you to understand loop impedance.

Do you carry identification?

Yes, and it is offered rather than waited for. If anyone ever arrives claiming to be from us and cannot produce it, do not let them in and ring the office number.

Want to know who is coming?

Ring and ask. You will be told the name of the electrician on their way, along with a realistic arrival window.
