What "local" should actually mean

A lot of "local electrician near me" results are actually a national lead-generation number that answers, takes your details, and passes the job to whichever independent tradesperson bid for it that week. You might get someone good. You might get someone twenty minutes further away than the site claimed, at a price that's been marked up to cover the platform's cut.

Our engineers are directly employed and based across Sussex and Kent. When you ring, you're talking to the company doing the work, not a booking intermediary.

Housing stock we actually know

Sussex and Kent aren't uniform. There's a lot of Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing with rewiring history nobody kept records of, seafront and coastal properties where salt air gets into consumer units and outdoor fittings faster than inland, and a fair amount of listed and conservation-area building where the fix has to work around the fabric rather than through it. That's not a rare edge case for us — it's most weeks.

Where we cover

East Sussex, West Sussex and Kent, including Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, Hastings, St Leonards-on-Sea, Bexhill-on-Sea, Lewes, Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven, Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield, Hailsham, Polegate, Battle, Rye, Wadhurst, East Grinstead and Shoreham-by-Sea. See the full areas we cover for town-by-town detail.

What it costs

You're quoted our figure directly, with nothing added on top by a booking platform in the middle. We diagnose on site and price before any repair starts.

Directly employed, properly trained

Every engineer carries a minimum of 18 years in the trade, current Part P registration, and full insurance for the work carried out. No subcontractors brought in to cover a busy night, and no apprentice attending unaccompanied.

Common Questions

Are your electricians actually local, or is this a national call centre?

Directly employed engineers based across Sussex and Kent, not a national booking line that farms the job out to whichever subcontractor is nearest and cheapest. The person who answers the phone knows the area.

Which areas do you actually cover?

East Sussex, West Sussex and Kent, including Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes and the surrounding towns and villages. See our full areas list for the complete coverage.

Does being local make you any faster?

It's a large part of why typical arrival is 30 to 90 minutes rather than half a day — engineers are already spread across the region rather than based in one depot a long drive from most of it.

Do you know older or coastal properties, or just new-build wiring?

Both, regularly. Sussex and Kent have a lot of Victorian and Edwardian housing, seafront properties with corrosion issues, and everything in between — it's what we work on most weeks, not an exception.

Is a local electrician more expensive than a national chain?

Usually the opposite, once you strip out the finder's fee a national booking platform adds on top of whatever the subcontractor actually charges. You're told our figure directly, with nothing added in the middle.
