Most electricians work Monday to Friday, nine to five, and there's nothing wrong with that — it's just no use to you at half seven on a Tuesday evening when the kitchen ring main has tripped and won't reset. That's the gap this service fills. We're not trying to replace your usual tradesperson; we're here for the hours they aren't.
Most of the calls we take out of hours are from people we've never met, whose own electrician's mobile is going straight to voicemail. That's completely normal, and it's exactly what a genuine out of hours service is for.
Evenings, weekends, bank holidays
Anything after normal trade hours counts — a Saturday morning fault, a Sunday evening power loss, the awkward stretch between Christmas and New Year when everyone else is shut. The rota is staffed through all of it, with an actual electrician answering rather than a message service.
An arrival time is given before you hang up, and it's a real window based on where the nearest engineer is, not a placeholder to get you off the phone.
What it costs
Evening and weekend work is priced differently to a weekday daytime visit, which is standard for the trade. We tell you the figure when you call, before anyone sets off, so there's nothing unexpected on the invoice at the end.
Same standard, whatever the day
Out of hours doesn't mean a lower bar. Every engineer carries a minimum of 18 years in the trade, current Part P registration, and full insurance for the work carried out. The supply is proved dead before anything is opened, the fault traced to its source, and the repair tested before the circuit goes back into service — on a Sunday exactly as it would be on a Wednesday.

Do you work bank holidays?
Every bank holiday of the year, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The rota doesn't stand down for any of them.
How quickly can someone reach me outside normal hours?
Typical arrival is 30 to 90 minutes from the call, whatever day or time it is. You're given an actual arrival window before you hang up.
