Urgent, but not an emergency

A dead socket in the spare room, a light fitting that's stopped working, an outdoor socket that tripped and won't reset. None of that has you switching off at the mains and ringing at midnight — but it's still annoying enough that "we can fit you in a fortnight on Thursday" isn't really an answer either.

Same day booking exists for exactly that gap: not dangerous enough to be an emergency, too inconvenient to leave for weeks.

How booking works

Ring in the morning if you can — that's when we've got the most slots left to offer. Tell us what's wrong and roughly how urgent it feels to you, and we'll give you an honest answer about whether today's realistic or whether tomorrow makes more sense. You get an actual arrival window, not "we'll call you when we're on our way."

If it turns out to be more serious once we're describing it — a smell, sparking, a shock — we'll treat it as the emergency it actually is and move you up the list.

What it costs

There's a premium for short-notice booking, same as most trades, but it's nowhere near an out-of-hours emergency rate. You're told the figure when you book, and the price for any repair is confirmed on site before work starts.

Same standard of work

Same day doesn't mean rushed. The same electrician who'd handle a middle-of-the-night emergency does the diagnosis, repair and testing — supply proved dead first, fault traced to its source, circuit tested before it's put back into service, certificate issued for what was done.

Common Questions

What's the difference between same day and emergency?

Emergency means we drop what we're doing and come now — a burning smell, sparking, total power loss. Same day means it's booked in and done before the day is out, but it can wait the few hours it takes to schedule it properly.

How late in the day can I still book same day?

Ring as early as you can and we'll tell you honestly whether today's realistic. Morning calls have the best chance; if it's genuinely urgent rather than same-day-convenient, say so and we'll treat it as an emergency instead.

Does same day cost more than booking a week ahead?

There's a premium for short notice, same as any trade, but it's nothing like an emergency out of hours rate. We tell you the figure when you book.

What kind of jobs suit same day rather than a routine booking?

A dead socket in a spare room, a light fitting that's stopped working, an outdoor socket that's tripped and stayed off. Nothing dangerous, just inconvenient enough that you don't want to wait a fortnight.

Will I get a proper time slot or just "sometime today"?

An actual window, agreed when you book, based on where the nearest available engineer is.

Need it fixed today?
